Wild Horses, Animal Meditation Club 1/5/26

This week, we meditated with Wild Horse energy on 1/5/26. As usual participants did not know the identity of the animal until after the meditation.

Lead-Up Experiences

With essences and animal energies, which are often subtle, I recommend trying them for the days leading up to the meditation. Here are some experiences from participants:

-Strong response from horse that they did not want human involvement. Or, rather, the best way for humans to be involved, would be for humans to come to them, and try to be accepted. Not the captivity. As I spoke with them, they opened up to some scenarios in which horses and humans could work together. An example is rescue horses, who could not survive in the wild.

-I had vivid, intense dreams. Eddie Vedder was in two separate dreams. Each time we happened to be vacationing at the same beautiful house.

-I was moving through the world feeling unseen. For example, cars and even squirrels would pass close to me as though I wasn't there.

Meditation Experiences

-The horses, excited about the meditation, saying, "Oh! You do this too!" They like it so much, but they notice that one person is not as much with the pack. They like the pack mind. I feel "part of the pack" repeatedly; this is the right feeling--moving and feeling together. They asked, "How do you think people would feel if you told them this is good for being part of a pack?" On one hand, I thought this wouldn't be very popular. On second thought, I felt this could be good for liberals who could be much more effective at creating change if they worked as a group, rather than fracturing from people who mostly share their viewpoints.

-A sense of heaviness, all over, but also like wearing ski boots. I felt grounded.

-The feeling of running fast and forcefully. They ask "Do you ever do this?"  (I do not, I know some people feel like they are flying when they are running. I feel more like I am pushing through water.) Then the move to stillness, perhaps eating grass. They say, "We do this too."

-A vision of things changing. Money turned into nature. AI turned into a river. A wad of cash turned into a big mini banana clump. These were all changes that felt like the way it should be. I then fell asleep and it felt like I slept a full night.

-The leader is discussing the behavior of a person I know. They are very clear that the person was wronged but also in the wrong, and therefore they should be moved to the back of the pack. This is how it is done. If someone does something bad they get moved to the back. Do something good, it is noticed too, and you move to the front. They gave me an example of something I am working on which will move me to the front of the pack. It is a basic, responsible leadership activity I will do as a volunteer. There seems to be very low tolerance for poor treatment of others. Moral leadership is essential. They also commented about having sex "for sport". They were shocked by this. This is a hard no for this species. They cannot spend time hanging out in the meadow. They could be shot or taken out by a mountain lion. No sex for sport. Theirs is a life of running, fight or flight.

-I asked if there was anything they would like to help with. They said they will "steady you, clear your path so you can create--you are an artist" (like Eddie Vedder) And then "You have a unique way of seeing the world that others do not. Keep doing it, and don't forget to look in the mirror for beauty there too sometimes."

-Vision: I am in the jungle, Eddie Vedder appeared. He had his long, flowing hair still. He started eating one of the bananas. Kind of like he was biting off the entire group. Then he morphed into a monkey and munching on the bananas. He gave me a sly smile, laughed and said, "I am not the animal you are looking for," and bounded off. As he did so, parts of him kept turning between monkey and man (flickering). His tail dragged on the ground, creating rivers. He got to the top of a hill, and tilted his head down at me. He smirked an evil grin at me, and kept staring at me and laughing until I fell asleep. (In between meditations this participant wondered if the animal in question was a monkey. The vision answers the question and gives more insight.)

And, here we have our celebrity guest, Eddie Vedder, singing Wild Horses, with Mick Jagger:

Synthesis and Possible Use

Interesting themes arose during our work with Wild Horses energy.

-A return of man-made resources to the nature. Being wary of humans.

-Being a part of the pack, the position in the pack is determined by moral or right conduct. Encouraging pack mind and responsibility, encouraging unique vision and responsible leadership, chastising poor behavior.

-Eddie Vedder!

First off, Eddie Vedder. There is a connection through the song, but also Eddie does Transcendental Meditation (TM) and has long been living sober. The participant who had the dreams of Eddie, also does TM. So in a sense the space they rest in is similar although they are not connected in any other apparent way. The horses liked the meditation a lot. The group work and meditation by individuals is a way to connect to unity consciousness.

The Pack: In my research on working with horses, for therapy, or just benefiting from being close to horses in a kind and gentle relationship, a main idea is emotional congruence. Horses act alarmed if you are internally upset, even if this is not apparent from your demeanor. In meditation with horses, this is because the herd relies on each other--if there is a problem one member notices they all respond and move together. Imagine if, in the human world, we did the same. For example, if a child was made uncomfortable by a pedophile, if they showed it and their entire group responded and moved the pedophile to the lowest position in the group. Imagine how different things would function. Indeed, studies show that the best way to remediate sex offenders is through group therapy. By having peer pressure to conform to higher standards they can recover. This works, whereas sending offenders out of the community, such as to prison, does not typically improve their behavior. In this way, retaining the pack is a powerful tool for horses and humans following their model to set behavioral standards. Similarly, people whose goals are in relative alignment who focus on joining forces, rather than individualism, we can make much greater progress.

Return to Nature: Yes, please! I love the way AI turned into rivers, and even as man devolved into ape, he created (or, perhaps, reestablished) rivers. It brings into question the value vs the destructive nature of progress. Humans have been harnessing horses to gain speed and power for at least 5000 years. Let's release power and progress motivations that are selfish and start learning from horses. Meditation and group work for restoring nature and right conduct are things horses can help with. Check out various studies done by the Transcendental Meditation movements showing that crime rates can decrease when at least 1% of the population meditates. Studies suggest it can also help criminal recidivism. What do you think? Want to give it a go for the community?

Possible uses for Wild Horses: Creating unity in groups and maintaining elevated standards. Promoting heartfelt leadership and supporting vision. And...inspiring perspective around progress versus a rich, sustaining environment.
