This week, we meditated with giant river otter energy, on 1/19/26. 

Meditation

"We have hands! Look at what I have! Hands. You say you will miss hands when you join the water, but you don’t have to! I enjoy touching chests and playing and spinning around in the water. I always have food, I know where to find it. Find it low down deep and above the rocks. I use my hands to break oysters open and play. My little ones hang around me all the time too—we’re together. You like to do chin-ups? You are working hard to get them this year? We are already strong! We are strong because we are moving all the time. You like to be moving all the time, too! I know you. That’s why you don’t sit at your desk much, and that is why you don’t have much pain. You move. You didn’t like jobs where you did the same positions."

I see a river scene--rocks and plants on either side. They go up and down, but mostly show me enjoying the water.

I am smiling a lot. They show me things in the future, and they are smiling as they see things unfold.

"We’re doing great. You know why? Because we are middle-sized critters!"

They are very organized/remember well where things are.

"You can talk to me, I am just going to be fun for you. When you have fun together all the time, swimming all over the water, staying in the water, not really getting out, just having fun—life is simpler, your mental health condition is good, because you are having fun. Usually, there is just one partner, and they are fun too, because they also know how to find the good stuff (I see hands pulling rocks apart and finding lots of yummy clams)."

I feel very happy, smiley, and have tears of joy throughout the experience.

"Tonight, why not imagine yourself like an otter and enjoy sex?"

I mentioned the zoo to them (it makes me sad when I see the otters there). They really dark and they said the people in cages now are probably there because of doing that to otters, then they revised that thought—actually, it is more because they did that to other humans (for example in other lifetimes).

Vision: There was a silver fish inside my phone. My phone felt like it was shoving into my ass, but it wasn’t actually. The silverfish shot out of the USB port and up my butthole! Then it went into my womb and up through a fallopian tube and then up out through my mouth. Next, I was in a cave, a dragon was roaring, and it ate the silverfish as it came out of my mouth. I saw various iterations of what could have happened. In some cases, the dragon was breathing fire at the same time as it ate the silverfish.

The dragon stomped on the silverfish, and then it picked it up, and it said, “You don’t belong here,” like “silverfish don’t exist here”. It threw the silverfish. I saw a picture of Oregon as a state, and then I saw an arrow of where the silverfish were going (to the east coast), and there was an X on Oregon (like we don’t have to worry about them here. It picked up an axolotl by each arm, and its feet were dangling. It was swaying around and dancing in the air. I was getting a bad vibe from the axolotl, then it grew a penis, but the penis was the size of its body, and the shape of a salamander’s tail.  There was a hologram of myself, next to me, who was so mad she was frothing at the mouth. She went up to the axolotl, and she bit half of its penis off and spat it on the ground, so then there was just a bloody stub.

Summary & Use

A while ago, I had a dream (read it here) about more people incarnating into the waters due to global warming. It felt positive in many ways because many sea creatures have larger emotional brains (eg, whales, dolphins); it made me acutely aware of how cool it is to have hands. It was very cute how positive, playful, and hand-oriented these critters felt! Their brains have lots of real estate devoted to sensing through their hands (forepaws) and whiskers, as well as for navigating complex emotional and social relations in their small communities. 

River otter energy is joyful! I liked their desire to have a relationship, and it is notable they showed images of the future. Giant river otters are large mammals in the weasel family. They are apex predators with few adversaries. They enjoy playing and finding food. Sea otters have a reputation for highly aggressive mating (like biting the face while forcibly engaging in intercourse) of their own kind and baby seals, including necrophilia (holding onto dead animals to use for sex for days. Interestingly, axolotl males are also known to aggressively mate, even 'mating to death' in captivity. Sexual aggression has not been observed in giant river otters (or to my knowledge in other river otters). Giant river otters are fiercely defensive of their pups. They remind me of dragons, in their long powerful flowing bodies, and how in many of the images, they look ferocious!  Their response to a threat to their pups seems like it would be in line with the (deserved!) attack on the axolotl. Dragons have varied interpretations. Per Ted Andrews (my fave on animals, mystical and mundane!) dragons can act as guides to awaken inner powers (this person seemed empowered), be guardians/protectors, and also indicate or support obtaining mastery over life circumstances. For the person with the vision, dragons are majestic badasses. Dragons are also associated with psychic powers--like seeing the future. The Giant River Otter is a power animal dominating waters, the element that is associated with psychic and emotional energy.

River otters are now associated with both the acknowledgement of joy in relationships and in the body, as well as supporting the attack of those who would do harm to those joys.

River otter is known for supportive for enjoying life and playing. Connecting to your ability to ferociously annihilate enemies and accessing knowledge of the future are areas of working river otter that warrant further investigation.
