Do you like learning about animals and working with animal medicine? I am passionate about this area of study, too!
Over the last 25 years or so I have developed my own strategies for connecting with animalkind and am happy to share them with you through this group. I recently started working with animal essences. Animal essences, like flower essences, carry the energy of a specific animal or group of animals of the same species. Unlike flower essences, no animals are harmed in this gentle process! Everyone I know who makes these is awe-struck when they are close to animals. The animals are treated as though their voluntary presence is sacred.
In the twice-monthly Zoom meetings, we will meditate with the essences as a group on Zoom and then discuss our experiences. Afterwards, I will share information about the animal--drawing from their habits, biology, and mythology. If you are unable to attend a meeting or prefer to work solo, you have the option to work independently and join the discussion through the community blog.
What's Included:
Each month, you will receive two animal essences to work with. They will be labeled with the reveal date; the identity of the medicine will be shared after meditation.
The first month, your package will also include my zine: Making Friends with Plants, Animals, and Minerals.
A QR code and web address will point you to the blog where meditation and animal information will be posted.
Meditation Process:
Put five drops of the essence in water (can be hot or cold, large or small). Drink at least a quarter of a cup. Close your eyes to meditate. Silently check in with the essence and let it know your intention to learn about its medicine. I like to express my desire to learn from the animal and how it likes to work, and also offer that the animal is welcome to learn from me too. Sit for about ten minutes with your eyes closed. Allow yourself to be aware of how your body feels. Do you feel your energy drawn to a specific area? Do you feel symptoms or improvement of symptoms of a health imbalance? What songs or memories come into your head? Pay attention to all of these. After ten minutes, take some time to document your experiences. Then have some more tea and again meditate.
I recommend having a daily silent meditation practice to become more familiar with who you are and how you feel internally.
Reveal Dates Are Noted On Each Essence:
- During the week before our Zoom meetings and blog-post reveal, feel free to meditate with your essence or simply add 5 drops to your water bottle each day.
- Essence experiences can be very subtle. Pay attention to any shifts in your physical body, emotions, thinking, energy, or circumstances/interactions. Take notes so you don't forget.
- Before the reveal date, look for the post with the reveal date that matches the essence and use the comments to share your experience. Sharing your experiences in Zoom and on the blog helps build authentic collective knowledge online.
- On the reveal date, the blog post will share meditation experiences with the plant, as well as ethology (animal behavior), myths, and other related topics. Check the comments to learn what others experienced.
